A visit to @regenta resort, Sakleshpur
Sometimes, all you need is a pause — a break from the emails, the alarms, the constant shuffle of tasks and to-do lists. A moment to stop the world from spinning so fast. We had been craving exactly that. A family getaway. One that wasn’t just a change of place, but a change of pace… of energy… of being.
With school holidays adding up and the summer warmth settling in, we started planning. Not a rushed, impromptu weekend dash, but a thoughtful retreat. A space where our parents could relax, our kids could play, and we—my wife and I—could simply breathe without deadlines.
We browsed. We discussed. We imagined. And after many reviews, YouTube videos, and comparisons, our hearts settled on Regenta Resort, Sakleshpur. It seemed to have something for everyone—water rides for the kids, nature for the soul, and just enough distance from Bangalore to make it feel like a world away.
We booked it.
And the countdown began—not just to a holiday, but to a memory waiting to be made.
The Journey Begins
We started early. Bangalore was still stretching, lazy and quiet, as our car hummed toward the Western Ghats. The city faded behind us, and in its place came winding roads, lush trees, and that unmistakable scent of freedom.
The car was full—not just with luggage, but with love. Parents, quietly content; our kids, brimming with giggles; my wife beside me, sharing quiet smiles. It was a four-hour journey, but it passed in a blink—because the joy had already begun.
And then, there it was—Regenta Resort, Sakleshpur.
Day 1: Welcome to a Warm Embrace
We arrived well before check-in time, expecting a wait. But instead, we were welcomed—not just greeted. Smiles that felt real, not rehearsed. The staff didn’t treat us like customers—they treated us like family who had just returned.
They invited us in, made us comfortable, encouraged us to explore, play indoor games, and relax while the rooms were readied sooner than we imagined.
It already felt right.
But the moment we stepped beyond the reception into the heart of the resort, we knew: this wasn’t just a resort. This was an experience.

The Magic of Water and Togetherness
The water rides quickly became the highlight. They weren’t just activities—they were bridges. Between generations. Between laughter and memory. Kids squealed in delight. Parents relaxed poolside, reliving their younger days. We forgot phones (well, not exactly—we needed one for capturing memories), forgot time. For those two hours, we were purely, perfectly present.
Then came hi-tea—a moment of calm. I wonder why it’s called hi-tea. We were already high with fun and smiles, and maybe the tea made us feel light, so we were hi in every sense.
Sitting down after the joyful chaos of the water, sipping something warm, munching on snacks, watching the kids run around the fountains—the resort knew how to transition us from energy to ease, without missing a beat.
The evening fountain show was a visual lullaby. Lights dancing on water, music floating through the air. You don’t need a camera here—your mind records it for life. (But yes, we did record it on our phones!)
And when night fell, the bonfire came alive—not just with flames, but with emotions. Kids joined a painting competition, and what touched me most wasn’t the activity—it was the staff waiting patiently for every child to finish. No rushing. No pressure. Just gentle encouragement.
Dinner was delicious—both buffet and à la carte. Though there’s room to expand the spread, what we had was warm, nourishing, and served with care.
We took a walk before sleeping. Under trees, with music playing softly. The kind of walk where you don’t talk much because your heart’s already full.
Day 2: Mist, Stillness, and Soul

If you slept the previous day thinking you’d had the best day in a long time, then you would’ve been gently fooled by the next morning’s surprise.
The morning welcomed us like a poem. A soft mist had wrapped the resort in quiet wonder. Everything looked dreamlike. I went for a jog, and every step felt like a meditation. Trees on both sides, birds calling out softly, the sun still stretching. It was one of those moments where nature speaks to you—if only you slow down enough to listen.
The breakfast buffet was a delight again. And if you had preferences or fasts, the kitchen didn’t hesitate. I asked for fruit salad and juice. They didn’t just make it—they made it thoughtfully, without me needing to explain much.
The kids fed ducks. We joined them. And then, back to the water rides—because why not? Joy doesn’t have to be rationed. It’s meant to be repeated, relived.
Afternoon brought games—foosball, carrom, snooker—and a soul-refreshing spa session for my ladies. Yes, they absolutely deserved it.
Evening again. Another pizza-making session for the kids. More laughter. More water rides. Another hi-tea. More ducks. Another painting competition.
And again, that care. The kind that remembers what you didn’t even say.
Day 3: The Goodbye That Stayed
The final morning. You could feel it in the air—we didn’t want to leave. A walk. A long walk in peaceful serenity, where peacocks hummed—though not to be seen, they were very much felt.

One last swim. A heartfelt breakfast. And then a gracious late check-out—not because we asked, but because the staff saw us, understood us, and simply offered.
We packed. But also, we paused.
This wasn’t just the end of a trip—it was the closing of a beautiful chapter we’d want to reopen again and again.
As we drove back, the kids fell asleep. My parents looked out silently. My wife and I smiled at each other, knowing something inside us had shifted—we were calmer, more connected, more grateful.
Thank You, Regenta. Truly.
To Cyril, Sarmishta & Chandan (F&B service), Nilanchal (Production F&B), Rajendra (Housekeeping), and all other fabulous staffs —thank you for every thoughtful gesture, every warm smile, every moment where you made us feel like more than guests.
We didn’t just find a resort.
We found a feeling.
And we’ll be back.
It’s been some days already, and we’ve resumed our daily lives—but some part of us is still at Regenta. Maybe, just maybe, we’ll go back not only to the place, but to the part of ourselves we left behind—smiling in the mist, dancing in the fountains, and soaking in the sun.
